Abstract
Objective: To evaluate Korean elementary and middle school students¡¯ foot posture and establish normative Foot posture index-6 (FPI-6) reference values.

Method: Five hundred seventy one Korean students (7 to 13 years) were recruited. Foot posture on standing position were evaluated using FPI-6. Each student¡¯s age, gender, pathology, FPI-6 raw score and interval logit score using Rasch trans-formation, and body mass index (BMI) were measured. Normal, potentially abnormal and pathological FPI-6 ranges were obtained using mean ¡¾1, and ¡¾2 standard deviation.

Results: The normal elementary and middle school pop-ulation (n=521) showed slightly pronated foot posture at rest (FPI-6 raw score=£«3.7¡¾3.7, logit score=£«2.4¡¾2.6). The FPI-6 of abnormal group was 4.9¡¾3.9. The FPI-6 ranges of normal foot was £«1¡£«7, potentially pronated foot was £«8¡£«11, pathologic pronated foot was £¾£«11, poten-tially cavus foot was ?3¡0, pathologic cavus foot was £¼?3. No difference was found between the left and right (p=0.131) and gender (p=0.161). No correlation was found between the FPI-6 and BMI (p=0.196).

Conclusion: Korean elementary and middle school students¡¯ foot posture was pronated than neutral position. (Clinical Pain 2014;13:20-25)
